Corona Del Sol RHP Brett Crossland was named the Arizona Player of the Year by MaxPreps on Saturday Morning.

The Texas-commit put up an outstanding season in 2025 as part of a star-studded Aztecs roster, and was apart of the pitching trifecta that included Arizona State-commit Ryan Caruso and OSU-commit Zane Burns.

Crossland, who transferred from Phoenix Mountain Pointe over the off-season, enjoyed a season stat-line of 9-2, 2.09 ERA, 86 Ks, across 73.2 Innings. Included in this stellar season, was a 10-0 no-hitter victory hitter on April 24th against Basha.

Despite a shaky debut performance for CDS on February 27th vs Casteel, in which he was pulled a little over halfway through the season-opener in a loss, the Aztecs gave Crossland the nod in the 6A State Championship. To say Crossland delivered would be an understatement.

The righty pitched a lights-out performance vs the Colts to clinch the title for CDS. In a performance cut short by a 10-0 run-rule victory, Crossland put up 7 K’s and only allowed 3 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings pitched.

Crossland leaves a legacy as yet another outstanding pitcher to come out of Arizona in recent years, following up players like former Saguaro/Atlanta Braves prospect Cam Caminiti (2024) and former Hamilton/Phoenix CC RHP Logan Saloman (2022). Both of which, also received MaxPreps POTY honors.

Numerous eyes will be on Crossland in the following days and months as he will more than likely be in contention for the Gatorade Arizona Player of the Year, alongside Hamilton’s Boston Kellner, Queen Creek’s Jet Berry, Canyon View’s Landon Hood, and many more. Many will also be interested to see where the RHP will land in the upcoming MLB Draft on July 13th.
