Centennial just added one of the most productive young players in Arizona.
Former Desert View running back and free safety Jaylee Abraham has transferred to Centennial, giving the Coyotes a major addition from Southern Arizona and one of the top 2028 prospects in the state.
Abraham is coming off a huge sophomore season at Desert View, where he became one of the most dynamic two-way players in Arizona. Abraham finished the year with 1,716 rushing yards, 37 touchdowns, 46 tackles, five interceptions and 30 receptions for 574 yards. He also helped lead Desert View to an undefeated regular season before the Jaguars’ playoff run ended against Canyon View.
It is this type of production makes this move one of the bigger offseason storylines in Arizona high school football. Abraham was not just a standout at a surprising SOAZ program in Desert View, he was one of the top breakout players in the state, earning Region Player of the Year honors along with All-5A Southern recognition on offense, defense and as a punt returner.
Now, he joins a Centennial program that has long been one of Arizona’s premier football powers, and one that is looking to bounce-back after a loss in the 6A Conference Championshipp. For the Coyotes, Abraham brings immediate explosiveness once eligible. He can impact the game as a runner, receiver, defensive back and return threat, giving Centennial another versatile piece in a program already known for physicality, depth and postseason expectations.
The transfer also creates a major shift for Southern Arizona football. Desert View loses one of the most impactful players in the region, while Centennial gains a proven playmaker with two varsity seasons still ahead of him. Abraham’s combination of production, versatility and age makes him one of the most intriguing names to watch in the 2026 season.
For Centennial, the full impact may not be immediate if the five-game sit-out period holds. But once Abraham is cleared, the Coyotes could be adding one of the state’s most dangerous offensive weapons right as the season begins to tighten.
A player who already dominated in 5A Southern Arizona is now headed to one of the biggest stages in the state.
